Guy Debord fue un revolucionario, filósofo, aventurero, escritor y cineasta francés nacido en el año 1931. Fundó el grupo y la revista Internacional Situacionista (IS), considerado por Mario Perniola como “la última vanguardia del siglo XX”. En 1967, publicó La sociedad del espectáculo, un libro mítico y una referencia de primer orden en el debate crítico sobre la naturaleza del capitalismo moderno. “Todo lo que era directamente vivido, se aleja hoy en una representación”, afirmaba Debord en la primera tesis del libro.
